Today, at the age of 51, Alexander Belostenny passed away. He was one of the legendary centers of Team USSR, the Olympic champion, world champion, three-time European Champion. PBC CSKA expresses deepest condolences to the family of Alexander Belostenny.
Alexander Belostenny was born in Odessa on February 24, 1959. He played for Stroitel Kiev for the most of his career, but he won his first USSR title in his only season with CSKA Ц in 1980 (the second gold was won in 1989). Belostenny left to Zaragoza in 1990 where he won the Copa del Rey, then moved to Trier, Germany, where he finished his pro career in 1994 and started restaurant business.
